Service Description: The
future rainfall scenarios were developed to support statewide vulnerability
assessments and climate resilience planning. Each scenario (raster datasets in
this case) represents a statistically derived 100-year, 24-hour rainfall event
for two future time horizons:
2050 (Near-Term Scenario) and 2080 (Far-Term
Scenario)
These
raster datasets simulate rainfall-driven inundation under changing climate
conditions and are intended for use in identifying flood-prone areas,
supporting infrastructure adaptation planning, and enhancing community flood
resilience strategies.
Flood
types are modeled in two ways respectively:
Drainflow: Overland and
fluvial flow from extreme precipitation and
Ponding: Localized pooling
in low-lying terrain due to rainfall accumulation.
Projection
/ Coordinate System / Datums:
Horizontal Datum: NAD83/2011 and Vertical Datum: NAVD88
Raster Type:
Continuous surface (flood depth measured in inches)
Map Name: Extreme Rainfall Induced Flooding
